How to Find Viral TikTok Videos in Your Niche (Not Just on the For You Page)

Your For You page shows what TikTok thinks you like. To plan content, you need what works for your audience in your niche, right now.

1. Search like your viewer

Write 4 or 5 phrases your viewer would type: not your brand, not your category name, but their problem. For a meal prep brand: "high protein meal prep", "lunch ideas for work", "meal prep for beginners".

Search each one on TikTok and look at the top results from the last few weeks.

2. Find outliers, not big accounts

A video with 2M views from an account that always gets 2M tells you little. A video with 400K views from an account that usually gets 20K is an outlier: something in that video worked far better than normal.

For each candidate, open the profile and compare the video with the creator's usual views. Keep the ones that beat their median by 3x or more.

3. Note the hook, the format and the sound

For every outlier write down:

• the first spoken line and the first on-screen text
• the format (talking head, voiceover with b-roll, slideshow, tutorial, skit)
• the length
• the sound, if it is a trending one

After 15 to 20 videos you will see patterns: maybe slideshows win in your niche, or "3 things" lists, or one sound.

4. Check what people say

Read the top comments on the outliers. They tell you what viewers cared about, which questions they still have and which words they use. Those words are your next hooks.

5. Repeat every week

Niches move fast. A format that wins this month can be tired next month. Make it a weekly habit, or automate it.
